Mouse, now Gyro
Gyro is a huge success in our family - Baz and I cannot imagine our life before he came to us! He has grown in every way - put on nearly half a kilo! As he was under 4 kilos when we got him, you can see that half a kilo is a big weight gain for such a little dog. Now he has reached a healthy weight, we need to be careful not to over feed him, as he is ALWAYS hungry, it seems!
The little jacket he had when he came to us from you no longer fits him - we had to buy him another one, up from size small to size medium!
His personality has blossomed and he loves playing games of all sorts. He and Baz play chasies around the house - accompanied by much excited growling by Gyro. (Fortunately Baz has not taken up growling!)
It is obvious he has been a loved pet in the past as he trusts people and especially likes men. When we finish a meal he rushes to the sink wagging his tail hopefully and eyeing the scraps, so we think he was fed household scraps previously.
Thank you for bringing this lovely little dog into our lives. We are both in love with him - and we think he loves us just as much! Altogether, his story has a very happy ending.
Warm regards
Anne and Barry

Bourbon Bear - Now Blue
Dear Stacey, Blue (bourbon bear) is going very well. He has put on some weight. A walk everyday and plenty of car rides. He sleeps inside, and enjoys his toys. He is really good company for mum and dad.
Cheers Jen

Mouse - now Gyro
Just a quick email to let you know how your little Mousey is going. . . he is now called Gyro. He has settled in very very well and seems to love us as much as we love him!
He has his own "crate" with a sleep basket with a lid - and sleeps soundly every night.
He is very playful and showing us more and more of his personality as time goes by. He and Baz have this game they play where they chase each other round the house - like two kids! Gyro gets very excited and just LOVES to play!
He also plays with his "Good O" food - takes one piece out and rolls it down the ramp (they are shaped like large Life savers) and then chases it down the ramp to catch it and eat it!
He is putting on weight and is now too fat for his little jacket. We'll have to be careful not to turn him into a barrel!
Thanks for all your help

Lara (nee Akira)
My name is Lara, I first met my owners, Olivia and Paul in November 2010 when they adopted me from the Albury Dog Rescue. They tell me they knew as soon as they saw me on the Pet Rescue website, that I was the dog for them and that I haven’t let them down. I had a lovely foster family and was sad to leave, but I settled in very quickly with my forever owners in Ocean Grove.
I am a playful, energetic, affectionate, friendly, loyal and (mostly) obedient Kelpie X Border Collie. I just love playing with other dogs, especially my best mate Barry who belongs to Paul’s work mate. Paul is a carpenter and Barry and I both get to go to work each day, which I absolutely love! We get to play all day with each other, other work dogs and I get loads of pats and attention because everyone thinks I’m such a nice dog.
I really love food, especially some leftover steak or sausage, but I settle for any kind of meat and love to chew on bones. I know exactly when my dinner time is – 6pm and right on the dot I make sure I go over to my bowl, move it around a bit to make some noise and then someone always feeds me. Sometimes at breakfast time I’m too excited about going to work and I don’t feel like eating, but Olivia always makes me eat it all up.
Above food, bones and going to work, my absolute favourite thing in the whole wide world is the beach. Just the mention of the word makes me so excited and sometimes I go a little crazy! Who could blame me though – all that space, the water, so many other dogs and people giving me pats and attention, I can’t get enough! I could run on the beach for hours and hours. I go in the water, but not too deep, I don’t like it when I can’t touch the bottom.
I haven’t quite got the hang of fetch yet. I know how to chase and catch the ball alright, but just haven’t got my head around bringing it back for another go. I still enjoy playing and I’m sure I’ll get the knack sooner or later.
People on the street are always telling Olivia and Paul that I am a really lovely dog with a beautiful nature. I am very gentle and good with children, especially if they give me pats on the belly. I am very fast and I love to chase birds up in the sky. I know if I run fast enough I will be able to catch one one day.
I haven’t been up to any real mischief before, but I have chewed on some of Paul’s sunnies, brought lots of mud onto the carpet inside and have torn up a pillow and other bits and pieces. I’m getting better though and although I get in trouble sometimes my owners can’t stay mad at me cos I’m such a sweet dog most of the time.
Olivia and Paul tell me all the time that I am the best dog in the world and that I make them very very happy. They say that sometime next year they will rescue another dog similar to me so I have a permanent play buddy.
Thank you Stacey and family for taking me in and making sure that I got a forever home.

Coco - Now Oscar
Just a short message to let you know Oscar (used to be Coco) has settled in beautifully.
We
can't believe we've only had him a short time because he's fitted in like he was
always
here. You asked me to send a photo of him with a short article so here it is:
Hi,
I'm Oscar. I used to be called Coco but my new Dad decided that was a name for a
girl!
I now live on 5 acres with 3 miniature ponies and a cat. I love the horses and
they love me, but
the jury's still out on what the cat thinks!
My Mum and Dad think
I'm very smart because I've learnt all their rules really quickly. I am at my
happiest
inside with them. I do run around sometimes just to let them know I can be an active
dog,
but I'm happy doing nothing most of the time! My family love my big, happy smile
(and it's not
just when I see food!)
This is a picture of me on my new bed inside -
don't I look relaxed! I'm very glad Ella told my
new family what a great dog I am
because now they think so too.
Thank you again Ella for your care of Oscar while you
had him. Albury Dog Rescue does a wonderful
job saving so many animals and giving
them another chance. Thank goodness I called in time to get
our Oscar!

Scruffy
I just wanted to send you a picture of our adopted dog Scruffy. It has been three months (although it does not feel like it), and he has been an angel. He has fitted in well.
You guys have done a wonderful job re homing these animals.
I wish you all the best for the future.
Many thanks, Eliza

Cupid (Happy)
Prince is the happiest big brother to Cupid and so proud to be showing Happy everything he knows. They both get a long so well, always watching out for the other and just adore each others company.
We all get up early for our morning walk to the park where Happy and Prince love to test their legs and wrestling skills! Happy is growing to be a confident, affectionate and playful pup.
Happy (Cupid) has a very healthy appetite, growing as much as he is eating. When we first got him, he was still learning to use his legs, now he can keep up a good pace and just gleams with his achievements. He is getting bigger, legs have grown and he has gained respectable weight with muscle tone appearing. He is enjoying the water and has no hesitation chasing Prince into the water at the beach. Next: learning to swim!
Both Happy and Prince loves it when Steve returns from work. They love the attention we shower on them not to mention that when we're all home that means 'more play' at the park!!
Thank you Stacey and the Albury Dog Rescue Group for bringing Happy into our lives and for the wonderful work you do for all dogs. It was a long drive from Sydney for us but worthwhile! We all love him very much and Prince wouldn't have it any other way.
Thank you again from our little family....

Nash
This is just to say that we are settling in with ‘Nash’ back in Victoria on the Mornington Peninsula. He is a beautiful dog with a lovely temperament. He is happy playing with his kong in the garden. We have groomed him and got all the matted hair out of him. He is feeding well and his behaviour is impeccable. We have attached some photos of him for you.
Once again, many thanks and best of luck with finding homes for your other rescued dogs.
