Pets on Trial

These dogs or puppies are on trial in new homes. We offer a three week trial period during which the dog or puppy has time to settle in, bond with his or her new people and other dogs and environment and for the new owners to get to know their new family member and ensure that it is a good match for both owner and dog.

This is a very important time and we ask new owners to understand that they need to spend extra time and effort getting to know their new family member and help them settle in. Some pets accept their new family immediately, others need a longer bonding period.

Please take extra care with fences and gates and do not let your dog off lead unless in an enclosed dog park during this period.

Keep your new cat or kitten indoors for at least two weeks until they are familiar with their new home. We strongly advise that you continue to bring your feline friend indoors between sundown and sunrise for his or her own safety.
