Elsie is just gorgeous. She has slotted into our lives so well,it is like she was always here. We all absolutely adore her,she is very loved in this house.
She had a one on one training session when we first moved with a great dog trainer
who gave us all the tools needed to show Elsie how to be her very best. She completed
her puppy schooling and was top of her class (even if I do so say myself) she is
very smart and learnt how to sit, stay, drop, come,
high five and give ten. We now
continue these at home and are adding to her tricks.
Elsie was a bit shy when we first brought her home and didn't seem to understand how to play with other dogs. Well you would not recognise her now. She is still a lovely natured dog but has definitely come out of her shell! She can't wait to get out of the car at the dog park as she has a lot of playing and socializing to do! She has lots of dog friends she loves to catch up with and is liked by everyone who goes to the park.
People always comment on what a lovely nature she has.
Elsie has discovered a great
love of water and tears up and down the shallow creeks biting the water as she goes.
She can do this forever if you let her. She also loves to play hide and seek in the
long grass with the boys and is known for giving up good hiding places as she bounds
over to where they are looking very proud to have found them.
Elsie spends her days indoors and outdoors, coming and going as she pleases. In the
evening she loves to sleep at our feet
while we watch TV but likes to sleep outside
as she gets very hot. Her coat is now very woolly which is why she needs to leave
the carpet for some cool floorboard relief from time to time. Boy has she grown!
At the end of puppy school she was 16kg and is now 26kg and still growing. The vet
thinks she is about 9-10 months old.
So we are happy to say Elsie is doing so well and seems to love her life here in Ballarat. We are currently looking for another dog or puppy to give her a play mate and hope we find one who is as good a match as she has been for our family. Please let Peta know that this is another happy ending to one of her adoptions.
Thanks again to Albury Dog Rescue for your help and for the great job you do in fostering dogs.
Elsie send her sloppiest kisses.
Bye for now
Natalie
