Profile:
These three pups (Denver, Delta and Dakota) were surrendered to AWAR from Mount Beauty, and should be ready to go from May 26th onwards, after they are desexed.
They travel well in the car once all loaded, settled and on the road. They are beginners on the lead, and will need training of course. Their foster carer hasn't noticed any digging from these guys, so that's a bonus.
As puppies, they do tend to bark and jump up for attention, all which are undergoing correction, and with further training, these pups will really respond, they are pretty intelligent (they just don't know it yet!).
They are all getting fed separately, just so they learn that there is now plenty of food to go round and that they don't have to compete for it, even though they plough through their food still. When it comes to bones and chews, they will let their foster carer take them without a fuss, but as soon as a sibling comes near, the growls begin.
These pups haven't had any contact with cats or kids, but with training and good guidance, they will learn not to jump, and should be suitable for homes with cats and/or kids. These pups are quite boisterous and can be full on and intimidating to smaller dogs who aren't used to the rough and tumble
of puppy play (they are currently around 40-50cm tall). At present they are outside dogs. All currently sleeping in one 44 gallon drum!
Dakota (Koti), a beautiful brindle girl and the largest of the three pups, is just happy to go with the flow. She was calm at the dog park compared to her siblings, but still wanted to sniff everything out.
Dakota will need firm leadership and teaching not to jump and other puppy behaviours to turn her into a responsible doggy citizen.
This girl will make a wonderful companion for some lucky older family or person.
